Simple, light-hearted, and unique – that’s Cycle for you!
Known for taking care of the tiniest details in his movies, Prakash Kunte is back with his next, titled Cycle. Seeing his prior films like Hampi, Coffee Ani Barach Kahi, and Jara Hatke, it will be safe to say that Cycle, too, will be an epitome of perfection.
Kunte gives supreme importance to detailing and it is this quality that translates into his work, which never fails to impress us. Cycle too has every detail worked out well and looks like another masterpiece from the talented director.
The movie will take you back to the post-Independence era in a petty village of Konkan. The setting of a small, quaint village by the sea instantly appeals to our senses and surprisingly has a refreshing effect. Starring Priyadarshan Jadhav, Hrishikesh Joshi, Deepti Lele, and Bhau Kadam, Cycle is a light-hearted comedy that can be enjoyed with your family
The story is quite unique and is about a common man, Keshav, who has a love affair of sorts with his bicycle, a bond that is beyond explanation. It is only when his cycle gets stolen that we realise how and to what extent such small things affect a simple, common man.
The cinematography and the overall look of the film are praiseworthy, while the simplistic storytelling steals our hearts. It reminds us of the brilliant filmmakers like Hrishikesh Mukherjee whose films took a common man as the subject and weaved a light-hearted story around him.
Produced by Happy Mind Entertainment, the film saw an unusual promotion trick. On the eve of International Cycle Day, the makers used a vintage cycle rally in order to promote their movie, which is slated to release on May 4. “Cycle is a special film for all of us associated with it and there is no better way to celebrate the occasion of International Cycle Day than a vintage cycle rally,” said Kunte.
